Evolution: ERT comes. The dawn of a scientific revolution.

A few years from the beginning of Critica Scientifica’s activity a new theory of evolution has arrived.

Its name is ERT (Evolutionary Resonance Theory)

When (not many years ago) we started saying that the Neo-Darwinian theory, with all its facets, was an unsatisfactory theory and we invited you to look for an appropriate one we didn’t think that the answer to our initiative could arrive so soon.

A new theory of evolution has been developed inside of Critica Scientifica and was published last April on the authoritative peer review magazine Physica A with the title “A resonance based model of biological evolution“. The news was then resumed by the newspaper Repubblica as well as by Canale 5 (an italian television) and other headlines of various kinds.

It was enough that a young physicist accepted the pars detruens proposed by us and that he consequently began to look for a new pars construens assisted by a researcher of great capabilities and the result has not been slow in coming, as a proof that the New-darwinism has constitued for decades an obstacle to scientific progress.

But a development of this kind should not truly surprise, things went almost the same way with Niels Bohr who in 1913 suggested his revolutionary quantized atomic model, with the difference that in that occasion the world of physics, unlike of what has been done by the biology one for a long time, by acknowledging the unsatisfactory atomic model proposed by Rutherford in 1911, it was immediately looking for an alternative solution.

But the analogies don’t end here, ERT has in common with the scientific revolution of the quantized atom the existence of discrete states in which species can exist, the continuous evolution’s model (gradualism) simply becomes in this way unworkable as it was the atom of Rutherford, and this, for own admission of Darwin, makes darwinian theory (and any possible neo-darwinian theory) confuted:

«If numerous species, belonging to the same genera or families, have really started into life all at once, the fact would be fatal to the theory of descent with slow modification through natural selection».

Next week the author will publish an article (here on Critica Scientifica) to present ERT as exclusive for CS readers.
